Qatar Emir Calls for Doubled Protection of Gulf Shipping and Energy Sites

Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani called for doubled efforts to secure Gulf and Strait of Hormuz navigation and protect energy facilities and civilian infrastructure in a Shura Council address in Doha on October 13, 2026. The call follows Iran's March strike on Qatar's Ras Laffan gas facility during the United States-Israeli war on Iran.
