Poland detains man accused of plot to assassinate prime minister and defence minister

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on 11 October 2026 that police detained a man accused of plotting to assassinate him and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński confirmed the detention. Tusk praised police for "swift and decisive action."
