
Manchester City guilty of breaking Premier League financial rules
An independent commission ruled Manchester City broke Premier League financial rules between 2009 and 2018. It found “sham” contracts with commercial partners funnelled more than £830m into football operations. City were guilty on all counts bar one, with witnesses found to have given false evidence. City deny wrongdoing. Sanctions pending; appeal to follow.
