Burnham promises legislation to curb non-compete clauses

Andy Burnham said the government will legislate to ensure non-compete clauses can "no longer be a barrier" to hiring. Speaking in Manchester, he said use had "gone too far" and was holding firms back. Ministers said details will come with the Budget on 28 October.
