Iraq plans to ban Waze because it was developed in Israel

Iraq plans to block navigation app Waze by end of December, with ban effective start of 2027. Communications Minister Mustafa Sanad said Waze will be banned because it is Israeli-made. Waze was developed in Israel and bought by Google in 2013. Iraq does not recognise Israel and has formally been at war with it since 1948.
