
Labour holds Starmer's Holborn and St Pancras seat in by-election
Labour retained Holborn and St Pancras in the 8 October by-election for former prime minister Keir Starmer's north London seat. Sagal Abdi-Wali, leader of Camden council, won with 12,292 votes on 38.7% turnout. Starmer resigned 1 September; Andy Burnham was prime minister at the result. Starmer had taken the seat in 2024 with an 11,572 majority.
