
Police Contact Sinn Fein Over Unlawful Portadown Parade Protest
Police in Northern Ireland have contacted Sinn Fein leaders about a protest that blocked an Orange Order parade in Portadown. Sinn Fein confirmed Thursday its members got letters. Police say Sunday's protest by about 2,000 people was unlawful. The question now is whether the power-sharing government — Unionists and nationalists governing together — can hold while its leaders are investigated.
