Ex-Hampshire police chief committed gross misconduct over relationships with subordinates

Former Hampshire and Isle of Wight chief constable Scott Chilton, 53, committed gross misconduct through consensual relationships with two subordinates, a panel in Eastleigh found. One relationship involved on-duty sex; the other began weeks after he became chief in February 2023. He had retired before the hearing. The abuse of rank, not consent, was at issue.
