
UK 10-year gilt yield hits 5.515%, highest since 2007
UK 10-year gilt yields rose 0.06 points to 5.515% by lunchtime in London on 8 October 2026, the highest since July 2007. Investors offloaded bonds globally on rising inflation fears as oil prices jumped. Twenty- and 30-year gilt yields reached levels unseen since 1998.
