
U.S. Grants Sanctions Exemption for Iran-Najaf Flights
The United States granted Iraq a sanctions exemption to resume flights between Iran and the Shi'ite holy city of Najaf, reported Oct. 3. A U.S. Treasury waiver would allow Iraqi Airways to operate the route, and Iraq's transport ministry said the carrier was preparing to restart Iran flights in October.
