Graphite's study found Claude Opus 5.5 uses the phrase "this matters" 116 times more often than human writing. The comparison used 10,000 pre-ChatGPT articles as a human baseline. Graphite defines an AI writing tell as a phrase at least twice as common in AI content as in human content.
