
Great Britain energy price cap rises to three-year high of £1,723
Great Britain's energy price cap rose 4% on 1 October 2026 to £1,723 a year for a typical dual-fuel household, its highest level in three years. Regulator Ofgem sets the quarterly cap. Chancellor John Healey faces pressure to provide household support in the 28 October budget. The rise adds £60 a year, or £5 a month.
