Bank of Japan Raises Policy Rate to 1.25%
The Bank of Japan raised its policy rate to 1.25% at its September 17-18 meeting, the Wall Street Journal reported. Up from 1% in July, the quarter-point rise lifts borrowing costs for households and firms while offering savers higher returns. I see the test as whether wages and services prices sustain it.
