Philips Hue Bulbs Now Support Zigbee and Matter over Thread at Once

Signify partnered with Silicon Labs to enable select Philips Hue A19 bulbs to operate on both Zigbee and Matter over Thread concurrently, as of June 24, 2026. Existing Hue Bridge users can now adopt Matter-compatible controllers—Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Assistant—without replacing hardware or choosing between protocols. The dual-protocol capability on a single chip eliminates a historical barrier to smart home ecosystem migration.
