
Fed Raises Benchmark Rate to 3.75%-4%, First Hike Since 2023
The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate by a quarter point to 3.75%-4% in September 2026, its first increase since 2023, the central bank said. I see this lifting costs for borrowers on cards, auto loans and mortgages, while savers may get slightly better rates.
