Former OpenAI, DeepMind staffer puts AI extinction odds at coin flip

Geoffrey Irving, former OpenAI and Google DeepMind employee, said in a Palisade Research interview that the chance of human extinction from AI is "about a coin flip" in his view. The interview is part of a dozen researcher interviews on frominside.ai with current and former OpenAI, Google and Anthropic staff.
