Burnham to unveil publicly owned Great British Grid

Andy Burnham is expected to announce Great British Grid in his first speech as Labour leader on Tuesday afternoon in Liverpool. Labour said the publicly owned company would compete for transmission projects to speed up connections. Labour said funding would come from GB Energy's existing budget. Mr Burnham is expected to say it will work with the private sector.
