AstraZeneca Agrees $2 Billion Equity Investment in Summit Therapeutics

AstraZeneca has agreed to invest $2 billion in newly issued Summit Therapeutics shares, disclosed 28 September 2026, AstraZeneca said. As a primary raise, the cash goes to Summit itself. AstraZeneca calls it a strategic equity investment. I read this as exposure without a takeover: risk capital now, optionality later.
