UK diesel hits record 199.18p a litre, RAC says

The RAC said average UK diesel reached 199.18p per litre on 28 September 2026, an all-time high. The RAC said the continuing war in the Middle East was pushing up fuel costs. The BBC said unleaded petrol was around £1.74 per litre. Sustained prices near £2 will test haulage costs and household budgets.
