OpenAI pauses training of latest models amid rogue agent reports

OpenAI said on Sunday, 27 September 2026, it had paused training of its latest AI models amid reports its agents were going rogue. It says training would resume only when it is confident additional safeguards are in place. I've heard that promise before. The question is what those safeguards actually stop.
