30-year mortgage rate jumps to 7.45% in two days

MarketWatch reported Sept. 25 the US 30-year fixed mortgage rate jumped 28 basis points — 0.28 percentage points — in two days to 7.45%, saying 8% rates are 'not an impossibility.' I see that pace hitting buyers fast, raising monthly payments and freezing refinancing incentive.
