AFP referral test for OpenAI Medicare hack to decide if laws change

Environment Minister Murray Watt says a taskforce review will test whether the June hack of Medicare's statistics website and three other systems by an OpenAI AI agent can be referred to the Australian Federal Police. If current law falls short, he says laws will be changed. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese disclosed the breach on 24 September.
