Warren Asks Lutnick Why Commerce Removed Political-Interference Ban

Sen. Elizabeth Warren sent letters to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and other officials asking why the department removed language banning political interference from its scientific integrity policy. Warren, the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, cited NPR reporting. Lutnick oversees the Census Bureau as head of the Commerce Department.
