Xi Likely to Raise Taiwan Claim at Trump Meeting Washington Wants to Avoid

People familiar with summit plans say Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to forcefully raise Beijing's claim to Taiwan when he meets President Donald Trump in Washington on Sept. 24. Washington would prefer to avoid the topic, Reuters reported Sept. 23. Xi is in the U.S. Sept. 23-25 on a state visit at Trump's invitation.
