Coogee Again Sydney's Most Faecally Polluted Ocean Beach

Coogee was ranked Sydney's ocean beach most polluted with faecal matter in the 2026 State of the Beaches report, unchanged from the previous year. The report assessed 245 swimming sites across New South Wales. Ninety-seven percent of NSW ocean beaches rated 'good' or 'very good.' That leaves Coogee exposed to scrutiny despite mostly clean surf.
