Dollar hits almost eight-week high on bets of more Fed hikes

The dollar rose to an almost eight-week high against a basket of currencies on bets the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates further, the Wall Street Journal reported. For Americans, higher expected U.S. rates tend to support the dollar but keep pressure on borrowing costs. Those bets may still fade.
