Mexico to ban cellphones in elementary and secondary schools from Nov. 3

Mexico will prohibit cellphone use during the school day for elementary and secondary students starting Nov. 3, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced, with an exception for emergencies. The national rule follows existing bans in 16 states. Schools will need to reconcile state norms with the federal standard.
