UN warns Yemen displacement could exceed 230,000 as fighting intensifies

UNHCR warned on September 22 that intensifying fighting in Yemen could push displacement from the recent fighting from more than 130,000 to more than 230,000. Spokesperson Babar Baloch spoke in Geneva. The fighting follows the Houthi seizure of Yemen's Red Sea coastline earlier in September. More than 5.2 million people were already internally displaced.
