UN expert says US boat strikes were crimes against humanity

UN special rapporteur Ben Saul concluded there are reasonable grounds to believe 68 US strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean and Pacific constituted the crime against humanity of murder. In a briefing note posted Sunday, he said 223 people were killed and rejected US self-defence claims. The US campaign began in September 2025 to stop drug trafficking.
