Lithuanian Startup Deploys 10,000-Node Acoustic Network to Detect Shahed Drones

A Lithuanian startup launched an open-source acoustic sensor network on 20 June 2026 targeting 10,000 participants across the Baltic region to detect Shahed-type drones. The civic detection layer addresses a real gap: foam decoys and false alarms in 2025–2026 exposed the cost of manual air-defence response. Distributed acoustic nodes lower marginal cost and enable geographic saturation beyond what commercial grids could afford, mirroring volunteer-computing models. Signal discrimination at scale remains the operational test.
