Conservatives pledge to bring back tax-free shopping for non-EU tourists

The Conservatives have pledged to restore tax-free shopping for visitors from outside the EU. The party said the 2021 abolition of the VAT Retail Export Scheme left Britain less competitive than European destinations. It said the cost would be offset by tackling NHS health tourism, with a possible extension to EU visitors.
