Labour rules out changes to landlord interest deductibility

Labour leader Chris Hipkins has ruled out changing interest deductibility settings for landlords if Labour is elected, RNZ reported on 21 September. He said Labour would keep the current settings because it is backing a capital gains tax instead. The coalition Government reinstated the deduction for residential investment property in 2024, according to RNZ.
