Greens propose end to ratchet clauses for small-business leases

The Green Party proposes banning ratchet clauses for businesses with turnover under $30 million, co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick said. The clauses stop shop rents falling at review. The change would cover new and existing leases and allow reviews to cut rents as well as raise them, with matching caps on falls and rises.
