India requires caller-ID apps to feed spam reports to telcos

India's Telecom Regulatory Authority has amended commercial communications rules to require caller-ID apps offering spam-flagging to forward user reports to telecom operators' blockchain-based anti-spam platform. TRAI says the mandate widens the report pool for enforcement against spammers. It covers apps operating in India, including Truecaller, with over 350 million users there.
