Philippine Daily Inquirer founding chair Eugenia Apostol dies at 100

Eugenia Duran Apostol, founding chair of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, died in her sleep on Sept. 13 at age 100. Known as Eggie, she spent more than five decades in journalism and became a prominent figure in the alternative press. Her 101st birthday would have been Sept. 29.
