British woman rescued in Malawi as police kill four alleged kidnappers

Malawian police rescued British auditor Nusrat Osman, 47, on Thursday in Mpemba/Chadzunda outside Blantyre, police said. Four alleged abductors armed with an AK47 rifle and pistol were killed in the shootout. Osman, originally from Leicester, was abducted outside her Blantyre home on 11 September. Police had offered a 30 million kwacha reward for information.
