Victorian Detective Charged With Assaulting Handcuffed Teen in Ballarat

Victoria's IBAC has charged a detective senior constable with common assault over an October 2025 arrest in Ballarat. It alleges the officer repeatedly punched and kicked a teenager under 18 after arrest while handcuffed and compliant. The officer is expected before Ballarat Magistrates' Court on 26 October.
