Addison Lee founder owes £20.5m after losing non-dom tax case

Addison Lee founder John Griffin owes an additional £20.5m in UK tax for 2013-2020 after a London tribunal rejected his claim to non-domiciled status and ruled for HMRC. The tribunal found he had settled in England in every meaningful sense. Non-dom status, which limited tax on foreign income, was scrapped in April 2025.
