Australia rejects sharp migration cuts, holds 225,000 forecast

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke told the National Press Club on Thursday he would make Labor's existing migration policy work better, holding the 225,000 net overseas migration forecast for 2027-28. He said populist promises to slash migration will "trash Australian services and trash the Australian economy".
