Omar to propose blocking $140 billion for ICE and CBP

Rep. Ilhan Omar was set to introduce the Make ICE Pay Act on Sept. 17, 2026, to block nearly $140 billion for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. The Guardian reported the funds were allocated under Donald Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill."
