EU proposes social media ban for under-13s, one-hour limit for teens

The EU has proposed banning under-13s from social media and limiting 13- to 15-year-olds to one hour daily via "mini accounts" linked to a parent or guardian. The EU Kids Act aims to increase wellbeing and tackle online safety. Only those 15 and over could open their own accounts. Enforcement across 27 states remains to be negotiated.
