Vegetable growers warn supermarket shake-up could lift prices

NZVeg chief executive Mike Brown says growers must be factored into any supermarket shake-up. He said growers face tight margins and about half do not know if they will still be operating in 10 years. If growers cannot make a responsible profit they will close, cutting supply and lifting prices, he said.
