Carney says Canada is not seeking EU membership

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada is not seeking to become a member of the European Union. During his Sept. 15-17 visit to Strasbourg and Liverpool, he is scheduled to address the European Parliament while pursuing a "unique security and economic alliance" with Europe. The Canada-EU Leaders' Summit is scheduled for Oct. 29-30 in Canada.
