52% of US Adults Have Experienced Physical Violence, Survey Finds

More than half of US adults — 52% of women and 52% of men — have experienced physical violence in their lifetimes, including attacks with a gun or knife, according to the 2025 USVEX survey by Tulane University and UC San Diego of 2,720 adults in all 50 states.
