National proposes splitting Foodstuffs to create three supermarket chains
National has proposed splitting Foodstuffs in two to lower grocery prices, subject to a Commerce Commission review. Foodstuffs, made up of two co-operatives running New World, Pak'nSave and Four Square, would become Pak'nSave and New World/Four Square chains, alongside Woolworths, the party says, according to RNZ.
