Alice Springs' Black Wreath raises $1m to buy venue for community trust

The team behind Alice Springs' Black Wreath hit its $1m crowdfunding target after a month-long campaign to buy the town's sole dedicated live music venue and place it in a trust. Donations from $20 to $10,000 came from across Australia. Whether $1m secures the building remains open, but the model could protect remote cultural infrastructure.
