Canada to Open Talks Next Month on Unique EU Security and Economic Alliance

Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada will pursue a "unique security and economic alliance" with Europe, with discussions with the EU to begin next month. He made the remarks at the inaugural Canada Investment Summit. Carney said Canada is not seeking EU membership. Canada is the only non-European member of Europe's defence procurement initiative.
