Houthis seize Hanish Islands, complete Bab al-Mandab takeover
Yemen's Houthi rebels seized Greater and Lesser Hanish islands, 160km north of Bab al-Mandab strait connecting Red Sea to open ocean. The islands were the last in strait outside Houthi control after Mokha and Perim island fell. The advance leaves Houthis commanding entire Yemeni coast, 32km from US base in Djibouti.
