White Horse reservoir cost rises to £5.5bn-£7.5bn, customers to pay over 100 years

Thames Water estimates its planned White Horse reservoir near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, will cost £5.5bn to £7.5bn, up from £2.2bn. Customers of Thames Water, Affinity Water and Southern Water are due to pay through bills over 100 years. The 150bn-litre scheme is designed to help meet a projected shortfall of over 2bn litres a day by 2055.
