Councils call for pause to fast-track housing over infrastructure strain

Local Government New Zealand, backed by the Auckland and Queenstown mayors, has called for an immediate pause on fast-tracked housing developments and a review of the system. LGNZ vice-president Dan Gordon said some projects are placing enormous strain on infrastructure, particularly in rural areas.
